NYS DEC Long Island Trout Stocking List and I Fish NY Events, 2026

With spring being prime time for trout fishing here on Long Island, all local lakes to be stocked during March, April and May have by now received their initial supplements. Following is the NYS-DEC Trout Stocking List, as well as a map showing the location of each water stocked.

On the map you’ll also find a list of I Fish New York Events scheduled to be held this year. These events are a great way to introduce kids and novice anglers to fishing. These events feature free loaner rods, bait and basic instruction to those who need them. Note that event listings preceded by an * require pre-registration.

Spring stockings of Long Island waters started in March and will continue through May, with additional stockings provided for several locations in October and November. Expect the spring stockies to feed well through the end of May while the fall bite starts in November and can extend through Thanksgiving most years.
