It took us a long time to get it right, but we finally did. The head of the harpoon is weighted so that it doesn't veer off in the wrong direction. With big fish we constantly find ourselves having to throw the harpoon on fish that are swimming at a fast pace. We can drive at 10-12 knots and still throw the harpoon accurately. The harpoon comes with a storage bag and a stainless harpoon tip. I would strongly suggest purchasing our harpoon rope basket in addition. It comes equipped with a basket and float at the end and 1,000 feet of harpoon rope. That may sound like overkill but trust me it's not. We have had fish take down almost two full baskets before they slowed down and we were able to pull them back up. A big sword 400 plus can take out 1,000 feet it a few minutes.
