Late Fall Blackfishing
Blackfishing is one of those intangible lines that separate the wanna-bes from the real fishing experts. Learn to catch blackfish consistently and you can learn to catch any other fish in the sea. Show off a couple of bulldogs, as the biggest blackfish are known, and nobody will question your angling ability. The words “luck” and “blackfishing” are rarely used together while “skill” and “blackfishing” are frequently linked.- Bryce Poyer
2020 Fall Inshore Preview
It may have taken an extra week or two to get started, but there’s no doubt the fall blitz is beginning to kick in on Long Island’s East End. Heading toward mid-October, action is rounding into prime from with stripers, bluefish and false albacore chasing lures for anglers fishing from boats or the shore. The bottom game, too, seems ready to explode with plenty of porgies already on tap, sea bass still in play, blackfish moving inshore, plus ling, hake and a few codfish onthe offshore grounds.

January Fishing Forecast 2020
January is traditionally a time for making rounds at sportsmens' shows, acquiring, fixing and sorting tackle, or even sitting by the fire with a good fishing book. All this is fine if you have the patience for it. Some of us, however, would rather rush the new season and get right on the fish.
